Updated: Apr 7

✧ Aspasia’s Scrolls: A Call for Submissions ✧

For the children who never left Mount Olympus.

ree

If you grew up tracing the footsteps of Percy Jackson, mourning Patroclus in the Song of Achilles, or feeling the ache in Circe’s exile—this call is for you.

Aspasia’s Scrolls* is a theme built on the bones of myth and the breath of memory. We're gathering voices that echo with the melancholy of old gods and the fire of mortal hearts. This is not just another mythology zine. This is for those who have always felt that the story never really ended—those who still carry the weight of golden apples, broken oaths, shipwrecks, and love that defies death.

🌿 What We’re Looking For

We want your stories and poems that feel like they were inked in starlight and sealed with blood. We’re looking for mythic retellings, ancient futures, lost voices resurrected, and the raw, intimate moments of godhood and humanity. The theme of this issue is:

Vulnerability. Power. Personhood. Resilience.

The beautifully sad. The sacred soft. The flawed immortal. The dying mortal.

Bring us tales that unravel the heart. Show us tenderness beneath the helm, sorrow behind the prophecy. We want the ones who broke and kept walking. The ones who cried and cursed and loved anyway.

Your protagonists don’t have to be gods or heroes. Let them be seamstresses, ghost-lovers, exiled scholars, or cursed sailors. Let them whisper in the ruins or dance in the storm. Let them be painfully human—or anything but.

🏛 Why “Aspasia’s Scrolls”?

ree

Aspasia—philosopher, rhetorician, muse—was never just a footnote in someone else’s glory. She was a voice in the shadows of empires. Aspasia’s Scrolls seeks to amplify that kind of voice: not just those who fight with swords, but those who shape worlds with words, longing, and truth.

We want to collect the scrolls you’ve been writing in your head, or in your notes app, for years. The ones that say: I was here. I felt this. I mattered.

So whether your piece is tender or terrifying, triumphant or tragic—if it sings in the language of myth and memory, we want to read it!

🕯 Unroll the scroll. Let your words speak.
