My Take on a Poet

Writes a poet, many an inspiration,

And gets read by many a generation.

Inspired by God from above, 

Portrays it with so much love.

Words and words in the poet's book, 

Jotted down notes from a memory nook.

Say many, a poet is heavenly, angel born,

 Others believe, a poet is a soldier, war torn.

A poem, for a poet is a finished piece. 

Publishing it, brings the poet little peace.

A poet has the potential talent to initiate, 

And the power for a new world to create.

A poet is sometimes considered a creep, 

But oftentimes, writes poems so deep.

Being a poet is pure love and joy, so fun, 

A chance to make people smile on the run.

Give I to all the poets out there a salute. 

And this poem, dear poets is a tribute.
