The Wall

Hush Hush, hear me love
Through the wall, Push closer
Look at my eyes through the cover
Kiss my sight with your lips
Speak to me Thisbe, through the bricks
Stretch your hand and I'll stretch mine
We can love each other until mulberry ferments into wine
What can I ever change
To meet you again, I'll myself build this cage
Quick quick, say something love
Through the crack, fill my spirit
Kill the silence through the air
Open the gates to the flowing Styx
Speak to me Thisbe, through the bricks
Stretch your voice and I'll stretch mine
We can meet here like water under god's eyes
The branches of brutality cement the pieces
Mortals, mere mortals against fates, the gods speak
So much to push and pull before the flood grips
Before the dark shadows build it higher than the mounts of worship
Can't bust it open like the box that contained disease
Thus now hope dangles like Babylon and its trees
Daggering us through thorns of roses into walls
Fixing us like a saint that's yet to walk
My dear, fly to me like a bird
And perch on my lips
Stay with me and I will wish
That the walls fall into autumn crisp
As wax collapses around it's wick
