Best Foot Forward

Leaving the lanes of pain behind 

I marched towards the desirable

destination of unlimited happiness 

Renouncing the baggage of past catastrophes

and easing off my shoulders 

from the burden of defeats 

I moved ahead by placing my best foot forward

mustering the courage to start over 

and take on another endeavor 

Though it isn't a cakewalk 

I would rather give it a try than give up

at the end of the day, that's life after all.
