Echoes in the Dark

Tonight, in the middle of forest,
I am Looking at the sky —
The sky that is dark,
Without the moon and the stars.
I look at it and wonder,
Is the sky truly dark,
Or is the darkness inside me?
I think and wonder,
Does silence surround me,
Or has my heart given up screaming?
Forest of loneliness,
And I walk too far.
I walk and walk,
Unaware of the path.
Who am I?
What am I?
Where am I?
What do I truly want?
Where do I want to go?
Is there any place I would fit in?
Questions upon questions,
Thoughts upon thoughts,
Emotions upon emotions,
Yet why do I feel so numb?
My legs shake,
My mind wavers,
Yet, a flicker of hope,
Lives in my core.
I walk and walk,
With sheer hope to find my path —
Fire in my eyes,
Coldness in my veins.
I tell myself,
And scold my heart,
There will come a day,
When I will realise —
Who am I?
What am I?
Where am I?
What do I truly want?
Where do I want to go?
Is there any place I would fit in?
