The Fire of Becoming

Oh, how discomfort burns so bright,

A flame that flickers in the night.

It licks my doubts, it stings my pride,

Yet in its heat, I stand, I bide.

The fear, the fall, the silent sting,

The lessons that these trials bring.

I bend, I break, but do not fall,

For in the fire, I shape it all.

No comfort here, no easy way,

Yet I am stronger day by day.

For in the embers, I have found,

A soul unchained, no longer bound.
