In the early 2000s,
She was a homemaker, or rather a lazy housewife for her husband.
He believed she had nothing to do, it was only he who did the hard work. She knew it wasn't true but often stayed silent to maintain harmony in their little family.
He often remarked that she only had to sit in front of TV and watch cooking shows, noting new recipes down in her recipe notebook.
Oh, her husband could never be more wrong.
It was only in front of him that she watched cooking shows. In reality her interest lay in watching news and the current affairs in the country.
Her recipe notebook truly held recipes…but not of dishes, rather of her wishes and dreams.
Seeing the independence and power of the media, she often dreamt of becoming one among them.
She used to note down current affairs, the media reporter delivering them, and often read through them. She diligently followed every news, every article through the home TV and the cyber cafe near the vegetable market.
After dropping their son to school, she would return home with not just fruits and vegetables, but also with a book full of ideas and steps to her dreams.
Years passed and the recipe book witnessed everything she tried to achieve this dream. Her failures, her little victories, everything.
