Yesterday's Sunset

Oh for weren't we too young
Trying to get lost in the dark of the night?
Following the stars seemed a good idea
Now it’s red wine and grey skies.
Wasn't it only yesterday's sunset?
It wasn't so far away when
It was rainbows and daisies;
Waiting for the trains that we knew weren't coming.
Wasn't it only yesterday's sunset?
The little hand written love letters
Saw innocence and truth not nostalgia
Now we only have time for billets and profits
Wasn't it only yesterday's sunset?
When we played a circus
And called it a love story?
Now it's a tragic tale.
Wasn't it only yesterday's sunset
When we fell in love?
Wasn't it only yesterday's sunset
When it was a cruel summer day?
